Harcourts Holmwood has Record Month

The Harcourts Holmwood franchise’s group of Christchurch offices set a new Holmwood record for written sales last month, reflecting the improvement in the Christchurch real estate market and the strength of their team, according to General Manager Tony Jenkins.

He says the sales consultants in the six Christchurch offices in the Harcourts Holmwood group completed a total of 100.7 written sales in September - setting a new record for Harcourts Holmwood, which was established in 1991.

“According to the initial, unaudited figures those transactions accounted for more than $43 million in property sales in September, which we believe to be a new monthly record for our company too.”

Mr Jenkins says a big contributor to last month’s records was the high sales rates achieved as a result of successful auction campaigns, including the sale of several properties for more than $1 million under the hammer in the Harcourts Holmwood auction rooms during September.

“The volume and value of sales written by our team in Christchurch last month along with the amount of new listings they secured are both positive indicators of the local market and the Harcourts Holmwood team,” he says.

“While there is traditionally an increase in sales volume during the warmer months, this surge is a marked improvement compared to the same time last year. In addition the auction clearance rates have also increased, with a number of properties selling prior to auction date.”

Mr Jenkins says the local market has clearly improved and the Harcourts Holmwood team is continuing to perform extremely well. “They understand the local market and are very experienced consultants and as such they are very well supported by the public in Canterbury.”

The Holmwood group has six offices in Christchurch in addition to an office in Wanaka.
